The Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon :are seeking an experienced, hands-on C:aregiver: to support the team of healthcare professionals serving the Sisters directly in the infirmary in their Convent/Motherhouse. The convent is located on their beautiful, lively, and historic 43-acre campus that includes Maryville and Valley Catholic Schools. This unique opportunity is perfect for a caregiver who is seeking a pleasant and relaxed environment with time for interaction with those for whom they are caring. Typical shift responsibilities include answering call lights, helping Sisters to the bathroom, and waking them in the morning for early mass. This vital position is perfect for independent, responsible caregivers who enjoy autonomy and understand the value of the support they are providing to the Sisters. Since the infirmary is in the cloistered part of the Sisters' Convent, only women can be considered for this position.
Schedule: Floating schedule, on call as needed.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure Sisters privacy, respect and dignity

• Detect, correct, and report unsafe conditions, which may result in harm to a Sister.

• Assure physical comfort, safety, and mental wellbeing of Sisters.

• Assist in activities of daily living, tasks in care and treatment of our Sisters, such as toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake of food, care of hair and nails, moving residents from area to area, responding to calls, etc.

• Ability to recognize tasks that needs attention and show initiative to complete it.

• Establish respectful rapport with the Sisters and their visitors.

What You'll Need:

• Passion and ability to interact and provide great care for our Sisters

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis

• Ability to walk/stand for several hours at a time
